How To Buy Shares and Stock Warrants On Canadian Companies

How To Buy Shares and Stock Warrants On Canadian Companies January 31, 2017 By Dudley Pierce Baker http://CommonStockWarrants.com Most of the readers here are interested in the resource sector which includes the junior mining companies as well as oil and gas companies. My opinion is that we will see a very positive tone for the next few years for gold, silver and copper and look for substantially higher prices with many great opportunities for investors. Since most of these resource companies are Canadian companies the issue for some investors is ‘how to buy the Canadian shares or perhaps the stock warrants on Canadian companies?” Also, I frequently receive emails asking if the traditional brokerage firms will trade the warrants? Allow me to clarify this situation for all investors: Canadian Citizens You are probably asking what is the big deal? Canadians can easily purchase the shares and stock warrants trading on Canadian companies through their brokers, no problems here. U.S. Citizens Most of the Canadian shares and about 60% of the stock warrants trading on the Canadian companies have been assigned U.S. symbols which facilitates the trading in the U.S. Most Canadian companies frankly do not really care if their stock warrants trade and it is up to a U.S. market maker to establish a market (not the company) and assign a symbol for trading. The stock warrants on the Canadian companies are not and will not be registered in the United States, however, this is not a problem. Investors are … Continue reading

Shifting Sands and Feeble Foundations

Precious metals expert Michael Ballanger discusses what movements in the volatility index mean for the markets. “Way Back When” is an expression that my grandmother used to use in discussing London during WWII when she and her family would congregate in the underground subway tunnels as soon as the air raid sirens began to go off. I use the expression “way back when” to refer to that point in time where market prices were determined by the natural forces of “inputs” such as demand and supply and where demand was actual orders for delivery and consumption (usage) and supply was inventory stockpiled on freight cars or in warehouses. These were the days before central bank computers could mysteriously create synthetic inventory and sell it as if it was actually present on those freight cars or in those warehouses; they were also the days before the Working Group on Capital Markets created the infamous “Plunge Protection Team” for the express purpose of preventing a 1987-style market crash through the purchase of S&P futures (synthetic stocks). Never again will we see the margin clerks with their visors and round-rimmed glasses toiling away into the wee hours of the morning with a calculator in hand assessing just who was getting margin calls the next morning; computers do that in real time today so that you don’t have to wait until after dinner to find out if you are insolvent or not. Furthermore, now that the Price Managers can play Space Invaders on their … Continue reading

Millennial Lithium's Deposits Go Deep in 'Lithium Hot Spot'

The most recent drill results from Millennial Lithium’s Pastos Grandes project in Argentina show the lithium grades extend to depth. Millennial Lithium Corp. (ML:TSX.V; MLNLF:OTCQB) reported that two holes drilled vertically to 355 meters and 400 meters at the Pastos Grandes project in Argentina in the Lithium Triangle have returned high lithium grades to depth. The Lithium Triangle is the area where Argentina, Bolivia and Chile meet and is home to over half of the world’s identified supply of lithium. The two holes Millennial Lithium drilled in the northern part of the salar, according to the company, “ended in brine bearing formations and confirm that the salar’s brine carrying capacity extends to much greater depths than encountered in previous exploration.” The company noted that its drilling has been confined to the northern part of the salar and it is in negotiations to expand the southern land package. “Future drilling will include the Southern end of the salar where lithium values are expected to be higher. Two historical holes drilled by Eramine SA in 2011, in the southern portion of Pastos Grandes returned average lithium grades of 558 mg/L and 566 mg/L, significantly higher than Eramine drill holes in the Northern portion.” Iain Scarr, AIPG CPG., VP Development and Exploration, commented, “We are very pleased that our work has improved on historical results and has significantly increased the potential we see at Pastos Grandes. . .we look forward to advancing this project in 2017.” Analyst Paul Renken of VSA Capital, in … Continue reading

Long Liquidation Looks Bullish for Gold

Rudi Fronk and Jim Anthony, cofounders of Seabridge Gold, examine the gold COMEX data and find it supports a bottom in the gold correction. Last week we thought that we had seen the bottom in the gold correction. More evidence of that came Monday with the release of Friday trading data from COMEX. Last week, as the gold price began to fall towards its 50 day moving average where corrections usually end or breakdowns can begin, COMEX Speculators blew an enormous number of contracts out the window. At the close last Monday, the Open Interest on COMEX was 483,408 contracts, a total which had grown quickly as the gold price advanced from the December low of $1124. At the Friday close, the Open Interest had fallen to just 395,599 contracts, a reduction of an enormous 87,809 contracts or 18.1% in just four trading days. Clearly, a large number of players panicked and liquidated BUT the price never even touched the 50 dma at $1178. What happened? Was it fear of this week’s Fed meeting (statement this Wednesday)? Or the employment report this coming Friday? We don’t know. But it was the fastest, most aggressive liquidation we have seen in years. And it did not break gold. We think that’s likely bullish. Environmental Permitting Process Advancing at NOVAGOLD's Donlin Gold Project

NOVAGOLD’s announcement that it is nearing the end of the Environmental Impact Statement process at its 50%-owned Donlin Gold project in Alaska was welcomed by a pair of observers. NOVAGOLD Resources Inc. (NG:TSX; NG:NYSE.MKT) released its 2016 financial results on Jan. 25, and provided updates on the 50%-owned Donlin Gold project in Alaska and the 50%-owned Galore Creek project in British Columbia, including the news that the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) process at the Donlin project is nearing completion. The company stated that the lead permitting agency, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is working on the final EIS, and that “the Corps’ schedule envisages the final EIS to be published in early 2018.” The company also noted that “other permitting applications and submissions have been concurrently advanced with state and federal agencies.” Analyst Raj Ray of National Bank Financial Markets wrote in a Jan. 25 research flash that “Donlin Gold permitting enters last stretch with Final EIS expected by early 2018. . .the Donlin Gold permitting process is driven by the U.S. National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) which requires the preparation of an EIS which is a detailed evaluation of the environmental effects of the proposed action and alternatives. . .the NEPA process drives the federal permitting timeline and state permits are anticipated to be issued once the federal process is completed.” Ray also noted that the “Alaska Native Corporations also play an important role in the NEPA process and their early involvement in the Donlin Gold project bodes … Continue reading
